How We Met:

Rachel's version: I met Matt in the fall of 1998. He was the graduate teaching fellow for my electronics class at Boston University. I embarked on a quest to befriend him and convince him to become my boyfriend. After much plotting and planning, the efforts paid off and we began dating in January of 1999.

Matt's Version: This crazy girl was totally in love with me while I was teaching the most fascinating subject of all, electronics. All the girls loved me because they were in awe of my dashing looks and brilliance. This one was more persistent than the others, so I gave in.

The Proposal:

Rachel's Version: On December 9, 2004, Matt finally proposed! I had my suspicions that it was going to be that day when I saw Matt in the cafeteria at work and he told me to "wear something nice, we are going to dinner at 7:00 tonight". This was odd, since Anna's Taqueria doesn't have a dress code. I asked where we were going and he said, "It's a secret". Nonetheless, I didn't want to get my hopes up too high (I had been waiting a very long time for this). We drove downtown by Boston Common, circling it a number of times while I complained that we were going to be late, as usual, and wondered why there was no valet parking wherever we were going. After finding a spot, we set out across the common on one of the coldest nights of the year. About midway thorough the Common, Matt got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was very sweet! However, the cold got the best of us, so after I said yes, we went straight to dinner at Lock Ober (very delicious). I think the waiter might have thought I was crazy because I couldn't stop looking at my new bauble and I kept crying... happy tears, of course.

Matt's Version: I had a great plan. She said yes. I'm happy she's happy now.

We are both really excited for our Wedding and hope you will join us for a great day of celebration!
